Our first time visiting this restaurant was today and I could not be more impressed with the food- it was outstanding and I can't wait to go back!
The funny thing is, our visit got off to a rocky start and I thought this review was going to end up with a much lower rating, but I cannot trash a restaurant based on the actions of one employee.
My wife and I walked into the restaurant at about 3:15 pm on Sep. 7th and found the restaurant about half-full. It was hot outside so when the hostess greeted us and asked if we would like to sit inside or outside, we clearly said: "Inside, please". Well, the hostess walked away, and came back a minute later and asked us to follow her- and she took us to a table outside. I asked if there were no tables left inside and she literally just looked at me and said nothing and had a major attitude. We were off to a bad start to say the least. She did tell me I could point a fan at myself, but the heat wasn't the reason I didn't want to sit outside, I just don't like eating outside. Period.
Anyway, we sat down and our server came over and he was extremely friendly and you could tell right away he was good at his job. He got our drinks right away, took our orders without writing them down (this always impresses me), brought us some very delicious bread and things were looking up.
Our salad (wife) and baked clams appetizer (me) arrived. Both were excellent- the salad was very fresh and tasty, and the clams had a great flavor.
My wife ordered the pasta with bolognese sauce and I ordered the beef tips with ribbon pasta. The food came in a very reasonable amount of time and I honestly have to say, the beef tips dish (I don't remember the Italian name of it) was one of the best dishes I have had in a very long time- the beef was tender and delicious, the mushrooms were great, the pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly and the sauce was something I could just eat with a spoon- absolutely delightful.
I had no intention of finishing my meal because A. it was big and B. I wanted to try Peterson's ice cream after, but my meal was so good I came really close to finishing it- really just stopped because my wife did too. My wife's spaghetti dish was also excellent.
The manager was walking around talking to people and he was extremely professional and really seemed engaged- a true pro.

I think the restaurant does an outstanding job and with an attitude adjustment for that hostess, they would be even better.

Very nice atmosphere and lovely outdoor patio. We cone multiple times throughout the milder months to sit outside. Food is usually very good but sometimes the pasta can be a bit chewy for my taste.
My main hesitation about this restaurant is the host staff. Usually high school aged girls who don't have a service attitude and need more training. If you walk in with kids they give you a snarky look and are not friendly. When my family waits outside while I go in to check in they are usually nicer than when they know you are brining small kids into the restaurant. I've tested this theory multiple times and it's always the case. If you come in with kids they tell you the wait is longer than it really is. If you check in alone and don't mention you have kids in the party they are more friendly and you get seated faster.
The main reason we like to come is for the outside patio and to get away from the normal chain restaurants.

Food, service, and atmosphere met expectations but what really made our experience 5-stars was this:

My younger brother ordered the cookie dough gelato for dessert. One of the managers (didn't get his name) regretfully informed us shortly after that they had just given out their last serving of it and offered a different gelato flavor; my brother happily chose coconut. A few minutes later, our waiter brought out cinnamon & rice gelato that the chef was planning to serve for one of their special menus on another night. My brother said he liked it it but had he not, our waiter was willing to bring out the coconut.

A couples minutes later, the same manager who told us they were out of cookie dough gelato came by with a LARGE CUP OF COOKIE DOUGH PIECES that he grabbed from Peterson's across the street!!!

My brother never once complained about not being able to get what he ordered so the fact that they went above and beyond to make him happy REGARDLESS made our dinner at Trattoria Villagio one to remember.

Best lobster ravioli in the area! The chicken Marsala is also really good. This place is romantic and cute. It's perfect especially when it's cold outside. The patio is lovely. The service is also really good here.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and atmosphere that I enjoyed!
The ambience of their back outdoor space transported me an Italian style courtyard fill of music and laughter.
The food was very good! I had the Branzino al' Cartoccio. It could have done without so much salt but otherwise packed with flavor and the envy of the table. My husband and sister tried the lobster ravioli and said it was very good.
We were pleased with the large wine and cocktail list.
I would love to come back and try items from their Raw Bar.
My only complaint is that we actually had to ask for bread. Also when food came, because our finished dishes were left on the table, we struggled to make room for everything.
Overalls I would definitely come back and try more!
